Low-Calorie Foods
Rule: 40 kcal or fewer per 100g.
Every food here comes in at 40 kcal or under per 100g — mostly vegetables, a couple of lower-sugar fruits, and two beverages (black coffee and unsweetened almond milk) that are genuinely calorie-sparse rather than just diluted with water. The rule is intentionally about energy density, not about any food being inherently better or worse — a food that misses this list by a few kcal per 100g, like a carrot or an orange, isn't meaningfully different in practice.
